The one where they reunite!

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Reunion

Well, they were indeed on a break, until now. The Reunion finally happened and OH MY GOD was it worth it! Could it have been any better? There are going to be many references to the show’s dialogues throughout this blog and I want you guys to comment on how many of them can you spot. I will try and keep it subtle.

It’s been 17 years since the 6 of them were all back together on the same set and boy did it feel like they never left. The reunion was long overdue and the fans couldn’t hold it in when they heard the announcement of the episode and some even cried just hearing about it. (I guess that was just me).

The general flow:

The episode starts with the cast entering the set where the reunion was shot and they all were very emotional. As and when the cast starts entering, the flow of the episode comes into a natural flow. It seems and I believe that the conversations were not at all scripted because it all seemed extremely normal yet so enchanting for all the fans. The episode advances and they show the scenes from different iconic locations of the show like the fountain where the theme song was shot, the apartment of Monica and Rachel, and the apartment of Joey and Chandler. Could the places be any more awesome? They also recreated the legendary quiz which lost Monica and Rachel their apartment. The episode is partly hosted by James Corden.

Iconic parts:

Most of the iconic parts were where the 6 of them are reminiscing about the memories when they were shooting the show and how they all became a family and a group of people so close-knit. And and and, is it just me or is it the cutest that they did a group huddle for almost all the episodes they shot and for the one episode that they did not one of them got badly injured. It was Matt le Blanc, his shoulder came out of the socket in the episode that they did not do a group huddle. Could they be any more naive? You are probably wondering who would change something like that, right? I KNOW!!! Moving on, they share many many moments from their lives on the set that we had no idea about. Ross and Rachel… I mean David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston finally opened about their relationship in real life. They opened up about how they had a major crush on each other!! Nooooooo!!! But yes it is true but it is also true that they never hooked up or never were in a relationship because either of them was always in a relationship! They just could not catch a break! Ironic, isn’t it? But for me, the most iconic thing was that there were parts that they did not care about the camera or whether or not are they saying something that will please the audience, they were just in the moment. They actually were 6 friends who had met each other for so so many years. The amazing part was that all of them felt as though they still were a family and still as close as ever.

Also, can you believe that the gang or at least the girls had all their lunches together throughout the years, even on weekends? Damn, they were so close.

Trivia: Did you know that Matthew Perry was the only cast member who was allowed to sit during the script because he was so funny that he actually added his own jokes to the scripts. Could he be any more Chandler?

Guest appearances:

They did not want to leave any stones unturned and well they succeeded for the most part of it. Almost all the characters of the show who were even a little mainstream appeared on the show but let’s face it, Mr Heckles stole the show and that was because it was hard to believe that he was even alive. But other than that, many global icons spoke about the impact that FRIENDS had on their lives and how much they love the show. Some of the stars included Kit Harrington(Jon Snow), Reese Witherspoon, Malala Yousafzai, David Beckham(Is he the hottest person alive or what) and many more. I don’t want to spoil the whole thing for you.

People from all over the world were also interviewed and they shared their views on how FRIENDS played a big role in their lives and for some, how it even saved their lives.

Things that disappointed us:

The recreated quiz fell short of any expectations that we had of it. The quiz kind of ends before it even starts and the ladies are announced as the winners for no apparent reason. There were many characters whom we wanted to see on screen such as, “The ugly naked guy”, Julia Roberts and many more people who had cameos on the show who all made the show even more awesome. There is one more thing that we did not want at all; for the show to end. That was the most disappointing and emotional moment of the episode. When they all bid farewell and said the things that they loved about each other and the show, everybody’s heart welled up and everybody had goosebumps.

Overall, The Reunion was everything that we had hoped for and I did not give you a whole spill not to ruin it for you. But we do learn one thing from it, that they were indeed there for each other and they still are.

Best actors of all time(20-10)

Best Bollywood Actors of all time

And we are back. Today we will check out the actors which made the 11-20 cut. There were many major upsets while I was making this but I am pretty sure I did justice to all of them.

20. Kishore Kumar

Kishore Kumar was a gem and a God’s Gift to Bollywood. He could sing and direct and produce and best of all, act and sing together. Kishore Kumar’s life was not a good one in terms of personal happiness but it was quite the contrary on screen. With gem of movies like Chalti ka Naam Gaadi and Padosan, he brought a lot of realness to the cinema. Kishore Kumar was so successful at a time that he made a film for the purpose of it to flop so that he can show losses and pay fewer taxes. That film turned out to be a hit and he ended up giving the rights of the film to his assistant at the time. Chalti ka Naam Gaadi was the film. Acting and singing just came naturally to him.

19. Dev Anand

Dev Anand brought a certain style to the film industry. His career spanned for over 6 decades. He was one of the most graceful actors to ever have worked in Bollywood. He appeared in numerous films in his time and just won people over with his charm. At that time, he even appeared in a Hollywood movie called Evil Within. Very few people had the impact he had over Bollywood and cinema all over as he did.

18. Anil Kapoor

He is considered an actor of our age yet he started acting way way back even before I was born. Guess my age viewers, might be your only chance. It is also believed that he invented versatility. His versatility is acclaimed around the world and for the same reason, he has also appeared in movies like Mission Impossible. Mr Lakhan did not have to do many 1 2 ka 4 to be on this list.

17. Anupam Kher

Anupam Kher is someone whom I see and feel like he has always been in the film industry. He has been nominated for awards in more than one genre multiple times. He has also been nominated for awards for his roles in Hollywood movie such as Silver linings Playbook. We can’t make a list of the greatest actors of Bollywood and not include him.

16. Boman Irani

Boman Irani is somebody who has kept proving himself time after time and has always has been underrated still. In his first commercial success, he bagged the award for the Best Comic role for the film Munnabhai MBBS. Boman Irani came from the theatres and that was the reason he started late as an actor. Oh, what he could have given to the cinema if only he had started early.

15. Paresh Rawal

Theatrics produce real actors, they say. Well, they stand corrected. There is a story that says that there was a play that he was acting in with Naseeruddin Shah. There is an intense scene going on in the drama and a child starts crying in the audience. Paresh Rawal stops acting and stops the intense discussion and asks the lady with the child to move out of the theatre and then he just resumes the acting again. Such is his control over acting.

14. Rishi Kapoor

Time is inevitable and it takes us all one day but he took this legend way too soon. Before his untimely demise, Rishi Kapoor made a huge impact on Bollywood. He basically introduced romance in Bollywood. His first movie, Bobby, was a huge success and everybody in India went crazy for him. He was a teenage heartthrob in his golden days but that did not stop him from exploring other aspects of acting. He had exceptional acting in Agneepath, Kapoor and Sons and Do Doni Chaar. He also bagged awards for the latter 2 films. He was a legend indeed, may his soul rest in peace.

13. Kamal Hassan

The word multitalented to was invented a long time ago but he gave this word a meaning. Kamal Hassan has played a woman and a man in the same film in the movie Chachi 420. Well, is there anything else that I need to say? He started winning awards when he was 6 years old. He is often hailed as one of the most talented actors to ever walk the soils of Bollywood.

12. Amrish Puri

Amrish Puri redefined consistency in his own terms. He was versatile, he was consistent but most of all, he was a natural talent. He gave his all when he acted and acted with the same consistency whether it be as Mogambo or a righteous father in Gadar, he always gives his all. But the villainous roles in the Bollywood are the ones that made him a legend. He has acted in over 450 films throughout his career. Oh dear lord!

11. Irrfan Khan

He is another legend who was taken away from us too soon. He has done anything but cliche movies of Bollywood. Irrfan Khan starred in multiple Hollywood movies such as The Amazing Spiderman, Jurassic World, Life Of Pi, and Inferno. Irrfan Khan was even hailed by the legendary Hollywood veteran actor, Tom Hanks. He said that Irrfan Khan to be someone who has an enchanting figure on and off the screen.

Best Bollywood Actors Countdown.

Bhai, Tum excited ho ya nahi? Bhaii, tum excited ho ya nahi!

Jao yeh sawal usse pucho jisne hume itna wait karwaya dusre blog ke liye.

Sorry sorry, that’d be my fault! The COVID vaccine got me for good!

Anyways, the wait is finally over and we are back with another blog. As we saw in the earlier blogs, Indian cinema history goes way back and during these years it produced many great actors and actresses. But there are always some who mark their name in the legendary book of Bollywood. So we will look at the top 30 actors of all time who became immortal with their acting. We will consider their contribution and acting skills over the number of hits that they have given, which might leave us open to some upsets but kya kare, ganda hai par dhandha hai yeh!

We will begin in T minus 5….4….3….2………1. Initiating starting sequence.

30. Shahrukh Khan

A lot of you are going to question this and there might be a backlash but I have nobody that I can replace him for a higher spot. Also known as King Khan. Shahrukh redefined romance on screen and became the king of romance with his series of hit films but the most famous of them was Dil Wale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. He played many other types of roles later in his career but did not get the same amount of critical acclaim. His movie My Name is Khan was one of his movies for which he deserves this place. King Khan did give many many many hit films during his career. Shahrukh Khan has won 8 Filmfare for Best Actor and is also the most famous celebrity overseas after Amitabh Bachchan.

29. Akshay Kumar

From being almost broke and moving to Canada, to being a superstar in India, it sure was a long road for Akshay Kumar. Once he delivered 14 flops in a row and almost shifted to Canada. He also has Canadian Citizenship, he said in an interview. He started as a backup dancer and today he is one of the most consistent actors of Bollywood of our time. From comedy to action to serious movies, he has done it all.

28. Mithun Chakraborty

He needs no introduction to the Indian public. Mithun Chakraborty was a Naxalite in his early youth which he left after some years and returned to his family and started acting. His acting efficiency showed from his first film Mrigayaa, in which he won the National Film Award for best actor. During his first two decades in the film industry, he starred in 220 plus films(110 plus films in each of the two decades). He really proved himself in all the film industries including Bengali, Hindi and south Indian industries.

27. Govardhan Asrani

Yeh Angrezo ke zamane ke jailor hain! When we talk about side actors who really made an impact, Asrani’s name is on the top shelf. His acting career lasted over 4 decades and his versatility has been a big no brainer to think about. Asrani’s acting throughout his career has always been flawless and is certainly one of the legends of Bollywood.

26. Ranbir Kapoor

Many people advised me not to even consider Ranbir Kapoor for this place but I just had to. He made his entry as a chocolate boy and an actor who can only pull off a casanova as a character but he proved them all wrong by bagging back to back Filmfare for Best Actor awards for his amazing performances in Barfi and Rockstar. I know he has a lot of his career left ahead of him but that doesn’t change the fact that he is a great actor.

25. Nawazuddin Siddique

He is one of the most underrated actors of Bollywood or shall I say, he was? It amazes my mind that how does it take a man of his calibre more than 10 years to get a big break. He had cameos in movies like Munnabhai MBBS and Sarfarosh in his earlier years but that was it. He got his first big break in Gangs of Wasseypur movie series and well, do I need to speak more? He was flawless in this movie and then he was unstoppable. He literally turned himself in all into all the characters he played. His most recent and spectacular performance came in the series Sacred Games and sometimes I believe that wahi bhagwan hai!

24. Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn has had a long career which is still ongoing. He always has been a versatile actor and he has proved that time after time. He played an innocent man turned villain in the movie Apharan, a police officer in Singham, a common man in Drishyam and Bhagat Singh in Legend of Bhagat Singh for which he won the Filmfare and National Award for Best Actor.

If you thought that he didn’t deserve this place, think again.

23. Dharmendra

Dharmendra paaji has played an important role in the golden eras of Bollywood where he acted in movies like Sholay which is the epitome of success. He also has been given the Lifetime Achievement Award and awards for his invaluable contribution to Bollywood,

22. Manoj Bajpayee

He too is one of the most underrated Bollywood actors.  He was part of the 2 films which played a big part in revolutionizing Bollywood. First was a film that pioneered in showing the true gangster stories of Bombay, the movie Satya. And the second was Gangs of Wasseypur. Recently, he won the National Award for Best Actor for the film Bhonsle.

21. Sanjay Mishra

Not many of you know him but he is one of the best actors Bollywood has and ever had. When I see him on screen, I can see that he is not acting. It is always so natural that we never feel like we are watching a screen. He proved that one does not need dashing looks and a six-pack abs body to act. He has won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his amazing and flawless acting in the movie Akhoon Dekhi.

Two and a half men Indian cast

Two and a Half men is one of the sitcoms which changed its protagonist mid-series and still was successful afterwards. The series had all the aspects to make a successful sitcom. There were different beautiful women in almost every 2 episodes of the serie. Charlie Sheen practically played himself in the serie and the of course did an amazing job. His comic timing was second to none. The character is shrewd in almost all the conventional ways but shows care in the ways he can. Jon Cryer plays the mentally depressed younger brother of Charlie Harper, Alan Harper. He acted his part perfectly and did an amazing job portraying a depressed yet emotionally sensible but awkward person. The “half” men played by Angus Jones defined his career as his major part of his life was Two and A Half men. The serie had other characters but the story majorly revolves around these three characters. So let’s see who would play whom if this serie was made in India.

  1. Berta

Berta is the hysterical maid of Charlie who is super shrewd but humorous as well. She is so savage that almost everybody in the serie is afraid of her. The character of Berta can be played by Mallika Dua. She is super funny and also pure savage. I can see no one better than her to play the role of Berta.

  1. Evelyn Harper

Like almost all the major characters of the serie, Evelyn Harper who plays the mother of Charlie and Alan is also pure savage. She is totally ignorant of everybody’s feelings around her and is also mean. She gets away with it. Guess why? Well, of course, it is a sitcom, everybody gets away with being mean cause well, it is funny, I guess.

A perfect match for this role would be Rekha. Well, I need not explain my choice because she can pull anything off with her vast experience of acting and also her personality kind of suits the character.

  1. Jake Harper

Jake was very small when the serie starts but is funny in his own way. If only Tanmay started acting when he was this small, I would’ve cast him immediately. Considering the fact that this is hypothetical anyway, a young Tanmay Bhatt would be perfect for this role of Jake Harper. He is too “kamedi”. I know he is not as cute as Jake but we can add some photoshop and edit out the extra fat anytime. You don’t believe me?, ask the Kardashians!

  1. Judith Harper

Judith is the wife of Alan Harper who like all the characters of the serie sucks the blood out of Alan and makes his life difficult. She and Alan separate in the first episode of the serie which leads to him and Jake living with Charlie. Judith does not have a major role in the serie but almost everybody hates her. She is the Cersei Lannister of Two and a Half men, ruthless as hell. I was confused between a couple of people who can play this character but I decided to go with Ileana D’Cruz because of the facial resemblances between them.

  1. Alan Harper

There is no character I feel worse for than Alan Harper in the whole history of sitcoms. He is a hard-working chiropractor who is trying to figure out his dating life along with having a kid and also a wife who takes all his money in alimony. The person best suited to this personality would be Abhay Deol because let’s face it, he did show us all in Dev D how miserable he can be and the facial resemblances can also not be missed.

  1. Walden Schmidt

Ashton Kutcher was the replacement of Charlie Sheen as the protagonist of the show and he is the perfect embodiment of Tony Stark. I.e. Genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist. He is as flawless as Charlie in picking up women but is basically a thirty-year-old child. Considering his personality, Ranveer Singh is the actor who would be perfect for this role. Because we all know how flawless he is in his showmanship.

  1. Charlie Sheen

I was very confused about the casting of this role but I came to a conclusion at last. The people considered for this role were Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar. Ranbir Kapoor seemed too young to play the part of Charlie and Hrithik is literally too hot. So we go with Farhan Akhtar who is a little older than the other two and also resembles Charlie Sheen. He can play this part perfectly.
